Brindha - Founder, Aethryx | AI Governance Leader & Builder of AI Infrastructure
At Maestro, we know there’s more to life than work. In fact, it’s the experiences, relationships and pursuits we have outside of work that can often give us an edge in what we do each day. We host an interview series called “Meet the Maestro” where we interview our Maestros and get an insight to who they really are and what makes them tick - beyond the CV.
Dr. Brindha is a senior technical leader with 19+ years of experience engineering enterprise-scale AI, data and real-time streaming solutions. Her expertise lies in bridging the gap between theoretical AI and production reality, designing and deploying systems that are compliant, scalable and resilient. She does not just set strategy, she defines the engineering standards that make AI work in high-stakes environments. Her career is defined by hands-on ownership of the AI lifecycle from architectural design and model fine-tuning to testing and full-scale production deployment. Dr. Brindha builds AI systems and operationalises governance that enable organisations to safely scale AI in the real world. Her superpower is operating across multiple domains with speed, clarity and integrity, staying deeply outcome-focused whether it is research, product building or strategic execution. With a doctorate, multiple published books and experience across AI, data and enterprise systems she brings a rare combination of depth and breadth, connecting ideas, solving complex problems and turning vision into execution.
1. Tell us about a career highlight to date…Â
A key highlight was leading AI governance initiatives in the banking sector, where I helped shape how large organisations adopt generative AI responsibly.Â
More recently, starting Aethryx has been a defining moment taking a vision from years of experience and turning it into a product that could potentially become foundational infrastructure for enterprise AI.Â
2. Talk us through an unusual career choice you’ve made along the way…Â
Transitioning from a stable leadership role into building a startup in AI governance was definitely unconventional.Â
Most people optimise for certainty. I chose to build something that doesn’t fully exist yet. It’s a bet on the future of AI needing strong control systems, not just powerful models.Â
3. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I was always curious about how things worked. At different points, I wanted to be a scientist or a doctor. Looking back, I think I’ve become a combination of all three building systems, explaining ideas, and creating things that didn’t exist before.Â
4. What are your passions outside of work and how do you make time for them?Â
My biggest passion outside of work is spending time with my children and being present in their learning journey.Â
I also enjoy playing a sport, writing, creating content, and mentoring. I try to integrate these into my routine rather than treating them as separate because for me, learning and building are part of life, not just work.Â
5. If you could instantly master any skill or hobby, what would it be and why?Â
I would love to master a craft like painting or pottery.Â
There’s something powerful about creating with your hands it’s grounding, expressive, and completely different from the structured world of technology. It would be a way to slow down and explore creativity in a more tactile way.Â
6. What’s a personal value or belief that guides the way you live your life?Â
I strongly believe in building things that create long-term impact, not just short-term success.Â
Whether it’s a system, a company, or a relationship depth, integrity, and purpose matter more than speed.Â
7. What’s a challenge you’ve overcome outside of work that shaped you?Â
Balancing a demanding career, a doctoral journey, and raising a family has been one of the most defining challenges.Â
It taught me resilience, prioritisation, and the importance of being fully present in whatever role I’m playing at that moment.Â
8. What do you think your job will look like in 10 years time?Â
In 10 years, I believe my role will evolve into building and overseeing global AI governance infrastructure the control layer that ensures AI systems behave responsibly across industries.Â
It will be less about managing teams and more about shaping ecosystems and standards.
9. If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go and what would you do?Â
I would go to Norway to experience the calm, the nature, and the sense of space.Â
I’d spend time with my family, unplug, and reflect. Some of the best ideas come when you step away from constant activity.Â
10. What does success look like to you?Â
Success is building something that outlives you and creates meaningful impact.Â
It’s not just about achievements it’s about creating systems, ideas, and opportunities that make life better for others, while still being present for the people who matter most.
